Tiffany's
Story
Tiffany is your storybook country girl meets tomboy... She grew up with a love of horses, like any little girl does... When she was 13, she was working on a Ranch with her grandparents (supposed to be helping them put up barbed-wire fencing.... but come on, there were horses!!! Haha). There was one horse who caught her attention, skittish as a mouse caught in a feed bin. She had been abused by her previous owner, and the owner of the Ranch felt sorry for her at the sale, so he brought her home. No one had been able to get near her for a few months since she had been on the Ranch, and being out on a little over 100 acres, no one thought she would ever be tamed. After a few weeks of working with her, Tiffany was able to pet her, feed her by hand, and even halter her..... She followed Tiffany around like a puppy. It was time for Tiffany to go back to the city to start school again though.... It was from then on that Tiffany dreamed of helping horses in whatever way she could... She continued working with that horse, which she had named Sandy due to her color every summer when she was down there. Sadly though, it wasn't until she was 22 that she was able to purchase her first horse.... She had been looking for horses since she was 20, but hadn't been able to find anything she could afford, or that needed help.... She finally came across a page for free thoroughbreds, (read the story on Our Thoroughbreds for those thoughts! haha) and saw 'Luke'.... The ad said 'Sane, Smart, Level Headed 9 yr gelding'.... She e-mailed back and forth for a little over a week, and 2 weeks later, she was making the 6 hour drive to get him. The first few months were a nightmare.... this horse was the furthest thing from the ads title!!! But she was determined.... She kept at it, building a bond with Luke that astounds some to this day. The people who knew Luke back when she first brought him to the barn, still can not believe the horse Tiffany would bring around now was the same horse she brought home June 20, 2009.... Tiffany has since trained countless other horses using the same method she used on Luke and to this day people call her a 'horse whisperer'. She does not believe in using whips and devices meant to hinder a horses performance.... Tiffany uses a herd mentality to become the alpha.... One owner, who had been having loading problems (so bad they actually once left the horse at a barn because they couldn't load her after a show) was amazed that after only 45 minutes of working with the horse, his daughter was able to load, close the horse in, unload and repeat multiple times with no effort. Tiffany never once hit the horse, her only tools were a rope halter, a 10ft lead and a stick to poke the horse off when she tried to dodge the trailer in Tiffany's direction.... Tiffany has never trained under anyone, but has developed a method all her own, that has turned countless horses around.
